The Opportunity
MetroHire is looking for a driven Business Development Manager join the growing team. This senior sales position requires a solid understanding of business principles and a proven track record in securing new business and maintaining a strong pipeline. The role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and driving revenue growth within the civil construction industry.
You will be responsible for acquiring new clients, expanding into new markets, and developing long-term contractual relationships with existing customers.
Based out of the Pukekohe branch, the role will involve outbound calls, site visits, and face-to-face meetings across the Auckland region, including occasional travel to Tauranga, Waikato, and the Bay of Plenty regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and lead generation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding client needs and delivering exceptional service.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to consistently meet or exceed targets.
- Stay informed on product offerings, industry trends, and competitor activity.
- Analyse market opportunities and risks to support business growth.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements that create mutually beneficial outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development and proactive sales.
- Knowledge of machinery and/or civil construction is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Results-driven, proactive, and comfortable making cold calls.
- Current New Zealand driver's licence.
