Our Service Division plays a critical role in supporting clients through installation, maintenance, and after-sales service — keeping essential systems running efficiently.
The Role
We are seeking a dynamic Business Unit Manager to lead our Service Division and position it as a key revenue-generating arm of the business. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing a team of field-based Service Technicians and office-based support staff, with full accountability for operational performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.You will be responsible for building a high-performing team, implementing robust systems and processes, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for our customers.
The Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor: Inspire and develop a team of Service Technicians and office staff, driving a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
- Operational Excellence: Streamline scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to deliver jobs on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
- Commercial & Financial Management: Own the Service Division P&L, set budgets and forecasts, and identify opportunities to grow revenue and improve margins.
- Customer Service: Maintain a customer-first mindset, ensure fast resolution of service issues, and strengthen client relationships to drive repeat business.
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the long-term direction of the division and develop new service offerings that meet market needs.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience leading field service operations, including both field and office-based teams.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and drive accountability.
- Commercial acumen and experience managing P&L, budgets, and financial targets.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- A customer-centric approach and strong communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience in water treatment, pumps, or technical/engineering services (highly desirable).
