The Role
We're seeking a Workshop assistant/ Storeman to join the team. This role will see you working across workshop, warehouse, and dispatch activities, with a focus on driveshaft assembly and repairs. You'll play a key part in keeping their operations running smoothly and ensuring customers receive their orders on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out workshop tasks, including driveshaft assembly and repairs
- Operate machinery and equipment including forklifts, tractors, and gantry cranes
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop and warehouse
- Manage spare parts stock—putting orders away, processing returns, and working within a bin-coded shelving system
- Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Use computer systems for dispatch bookings, stock records, and basic reporting

Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge and experience (exposure to tractors or cranes highly advantageous)
- Experience with forklift, tractor, and gantry crane operation (or willingness to learn)
- Good communication skills and ability to ask questions when needed
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in part picking and dispatch
- Basic computer skills (confidence navigating systems)
