The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Business Development Team Leader to lead the business development team on a day-to-day basis. The role focuses primarily on appointment setting for the sales team, managing inbound enquiry channels, and ensuring effective follow-up of all sales actions in line with the sales process. You will also be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
This position will suit a motivated sales leader with strong people management skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to drive performance through both strategy and action.
This is a 100% office-based role located in Tullamarine, VIC. Candidates must be Melbourne-based and live within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets while delivering an excellent end-to-end customer journey and managing all post-enquiry touchpoints.
- Manage inbound and outbound leads, list building, qualification, handover to sales teams, and ensure timely follow-ups to maximize conversion.
- Drive sales strategies, lead generation initiatives, business improvement projects, and ensure alignment with growth objectives and KPIs.
- Motivate and support the business development team, provide training on systems and processes, and ensure achievement of team KPIs.
- Administer and optimize Salesforce, maintain data accuracy, track opportunities, automate workflows, and produce reports and dashboards.
- Provide sales documentation support, book and coordinate C-level meetings, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute insights for strategic planning.

- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Highly organised with strong time management, able to work independently, under pressure, and adapt quickly to change.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions and coordinate follow-through on critical tasks.
- Strong understanding of sales process design, CRM systems (ideally Salesforce), and B2B/equipment sales environments.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to interpret performance metrics, provide insights, and drive results.
- Proven project management and process improvement skills, combined with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and keen attention to detail.
