The Role

The Finance Manager plays a key role in overseeing the financial operations of Dunsteel, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and strong financial governance across the business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this hands-on role combines day-to-day financial management with strategic support. The Finance Manager will be responsible for budgeting, cash flow forecasting, compliance, and supporting the leadership team with clear, data-driven insights to guide business decisions

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, financial models, and strategic financial reports for executives and stakeholders.

• Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, treasury operations, and working capital optimisation.

• Oversee accounting processes, general ledger integrity, and preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with standards and regulations.

• Coordinate month-end and year-end close, board-level reporting, and statutory compliance.

• Manage tax obligations (BAS, GST, PAYG) and liaise with auditors, ensuring compliance and implementing effective tax strategies.

• Analyse costs, margins, and profitability to identify savings opportunities and support procurement and vendor negotiations.

• Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, policies, and accounting systems for efficiency and transparency.

• Lead and develop the finance team, overseeing AP/AR/payroll, mentoring staff, and aligning finance with business objectives.

What we are looking for: 

• Proven experience in a senior finance role with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

• Strong track record in financial reporting, compliance, and driving process improvements.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience building and developing high-performing teams.

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, plus proficiency with accounting systems.

• Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
